Kinnon Church is a sought-after double bassist, known for his ability to step comfortably into wideranging musical situations. Mr. Church has a thriving musical life in North America and Europe.
Recent appearances in the US, Denmark, and Germany, include performances with the Aarhus
Symfoniorkester, Aalborg Symfoniorkester, Sønderjyllands Symfoniorkester, BaroqueAros, Placido
Domingo, Portland Symphony Orchestra, Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra, and jazz clarinet legend
Brad Terry. Mr. Church also regularly appears with numerous ensembles in the United States ranging
from Cabaret Orchestras to Alternative-Rock and Klezmer groups.
Kinnon has studied with Erik Higgins (2. Solo Bas – Aarhus Symfoniorkester), Heather Miller Lardin
(Principal Bass – Handel & Haydn Society), and Bronek Suchanek (Swedish Radio Jazz Group). He
has also participated in masterclasses with jazz trumpeter and composer Dave Douglas and
internationally renowned double bass soloist Petru Iuga. Recent festival appearances include Wiener
Philharmoniker's International Orchestra Institute at Attergau, Orford Musique, and the Amherst Early
Music Festival. Kinnon is currently pursuing a Masters Degree under the tutelage of Erik Higgins, at
Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium in Aarhus, Denmark.
