The 33 year old Dane, Christian Balvig, is known for his work as composer and arranger for an array of bands and ensembles. Copenhagen Phil, Aalborg Symphonic Orchestra, The Royal Danish Orchestra, DR Symphonic Orchestra, Danish Chamber Orchestra, Det Norske Blåsensemble, Mew, Blaue Blume, Veto, Lowly, Efterklang, Søren Huss, Dreamers Circus and When Saints Go Machine just to name a few. His own records "Music For Humans", "Associated with Water" and "Night Poem" has been critically acclaimed internationally.
Christian is working seamlessly across different genres and mediums, and has also been hired as producer, film scorer and composer in several occasions. Amongst othe movies he has scored, can be mentioned: “The Son And The Moon (Min Arv Bor I Dig)” by Rosa Pakari, “Kandis For Livet” by Jesper Dalgaard, “Ulven Kommer (Cry Wolf)” by DR Drama,”A Word For Human" by Mauricio Ananda-Gonzales and some additional compositions in “Spy Ops” by Netflix.
Furthermore, Christian has played concerts and festivals all over the world including Japan, Canada, India, Vietnam, Gambia, USA and most of Europe, as pianist and keyboardist.
What are your interests besides music?
Road cycling - both on tv and being the bike myself. Astrophysics and the universe in general.
Who are your biggest inspirations and why?
John Williams cause he managed to make some extremely extraordinary music and make it fit the screen and the story so perfect - I still don't understand how that is possible on that level.

What do you like about playing chamber music?
That the interaction between the musicians are vivid and easy to follow as an audience.
